WHY CGS?

Approaching our centenary in 2029, Canberra Grammar School stands as one of Australia’s leading independent co-educational schools, uniting nearly 100 years of tradition with a bold vision for the future.

As an Anglican day and boarding school for students from Pre-School to Year 12, we believe that a co-educational environment best prepares young people for the world beyond school where collaboration, equality, and respect are fundamental to success.

Our inclusive and globally minded community brings together students from more than 40 nations to learn, live and grow with purpose. OUR SENIOR SCHOOL

Who’s our latest citizen of the world? Goldie! Stowing away in our students’ flight to Beijing on 29 November, Goldie is joining our first CGS China Tour since 2019! 
 
On the tour, CGS is re-establishing contact between our sister schools in both Beijing and Hangzhou, and meeting with Harrow School in Shanghai. Goldie has already had the grand tour of The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, within the Temple of Heaven complex in Beijing, and we have it on good authority that our little mascot will traverse quite a few more of China’s culturally significant places before the trip is through.Image attachmentImage attachment+2Image attachment

Congratulations to Buru House for taking home the 2025 Primary School House Shield! 

Primary School’s last Assembly for Term 4 was also an opportunity to farewell a number of Primary staff closing out their time with us this year, including our Head of Primary School, Dr Sandra Webster, who concludes a 45-year teaching career. Dr Webster was presented with a framed picture from CGS students, wishing her the very best in her retirement, which we also warmly extend.
